  • Register for a Personal Account through the SPbU Admissions Committee website
  • Fill in, print and sign your application for admission to one or several educational programmes (no more than three programmes)
  • Submit the required documents electronically through your Personal Account

Recognition of foreign educational credentials

Recognition of foreign educational credentials by St.Petersburg State University

Recognition of a foreign educational credential in the Russian Federations is necessary for the holder to be admitted to educational programs of a certain level.

The Government of the Russian Federation has published a list of foreign educational organisations whose educational credentials are recognised in the Russian Federation.

The Credentials of other educational organisations should be recognised by St.Petersburg State University. The Committee for the Evaluation of Foreign Credentials at St.Petersburg State University is in charge for the procedure of recognition for admission purposes.

Any questions on the recognition of the credentials and the recognitions of the official documents in Russia can be addressed to the Committee for the Evaluation of Foreign Credentials by e-mail or to the officer at Universiteskaya Emb., 13 B, St.Petersburg.

The educational documents should be properly prepared to be submitted in the Russian Federation.

Non-degree and Exchange Studies

Foreign citizens can apply for admission to SPbU on tuition-free basis as short-term exchange students on basis of an agreement between SPbU and the applicant’s home university. List of SPbU partner universities is available here.

At the end of the exchange programme participants get a transcript of records, but not a degree from the host university. Exchange period may last 1 semester or full academic year for on-degree studies programme and from several weeks to full academic year for research programme (for master and doctorate students).
