Admission of international applicants

International applicants can be admitted to SPbU both to places:

As specified in the Governmental decree of Russian Federation (№ 2150 as of December 18, 2020 «On Establishing an Education Quota for Foreign Nationals and Stateless Citizens in the Russian Federation»), foreign citizens are provided an opportunity to take part in an Competition for state-funded educational places at Universities in Russian Federation, including SPbU (funded from the budget of Russian Federation). Information about order of admission will be available in the section «For applicants on government-funded basis» in the terms defined by the Government of the Russian Federation.

In May, St Petersburg University concludes the spring series of informational meetings with international applicants. The participants will learn more about the University, its facilities and opportunities for international students, SPbU main educational programmes and admission procedure for the 2022/23 academic year.

From 01.06 to 26.06.2022, St Petersburg University accepts documents from foreign citizens applying for admission to aspirantura programmes for training research and teaching staff on the fee-paying (contractual) basis.

St Petersburg University continues its series of information meetings with international applicants. Participants will learn more about advantages of studying at SPbU, special features of study programs at SPbU, admission procedure for the 2022/2023 academic year, the prospects and conditions of participation in competitions held at SPbU, opportunities to study Russian as part of additional study programs. Moreover, you will be provided with an opportunity to communicate directly with Admissions Office representatives and ask questions during the event.

The acceptance of documents from international citizens for participation in the competition for admission to clinical residency programmes will begin on July 1 and end on August 11 at 18:00 Moscow time.

Every student coming from a foreign country to study at St Petersburg University becomes part of the International Students Club at St Petersburg University. The Club represents their rights and interests at the University, promotes cultural exchange and helps students to become part of a large academic family.
